How To Fill & Remove Spheres from the Chillz Classic Ice Ball Maker January 18, 2017 17:12
The most common issue or frustration with customers and the Chillz Classic ice ball maker is how to properly use it. We're all busy people and taking time to read instructions or watch a how-to video isn't always what we want to do but is sometimes necessary if you want to use something correctly. This is one of those cases.
For best results, fill the ENTIRE BOTTOM TRAY of the Chillz Classic 3/4 full then put on the lid. Water will come out of the top holes and spill over into the lid area. This weighs down the lid during freezing. Place the tray on a flat surface in your freezer where it will not be totally surrounded by other items. This ensures proper freezing. Freeze overnight for best results or you might get spheres that break in half. This means you didn't let it freeze long enough.
When you are ready to get the spheres out, twist the flexible mold in all directions and on all sides. This breaks up the ice that forms between the spheres. If you hear ice breaking up, this means you have more twisting to do! Keep twisting until you no longer hear ice breaking. Remove the lid and you should have near perfect spheres.
If you want to watch the process in action, simply go to our TIPS AND VIDEOS tab on the website and watch our How To Videos (the live recorded ones) for how to fill and then how to remove ice balls for the Chillz Classic Ice Ball Maker.
